Bright tidings on the spring winds, folks.
The last month has been one for the history books. I joined dear one Lydia Loveless and her band down in Memphis to record a supreme collection of her new songs at Southern Grooves, proudly commandeering pianos and Hammonds. Taking up keyboards and auxiliary in S.G. Goodman's band on the highways has been nothing short of a gift and I am looking forward to the next shows. We opened for Tyler Childers at Kroger Field, each electric line reverberating into the Kentucky sky, heavy with humidity. Made my way into San Francisco and the halls of Tiny Telephone Studios to work with a regular Bay Area wrecking crew to arrange for some of old friend Dwayne Jarrell's songs.
I’ve been asked to open the western leg of S.G. Goodman’s release tour for her upcoming and shining new album, Planting by the Signs. I’ll also be performing in S.G.’s band, playing keyboards and auxiliary instruments. Grateful and excited beyond my days to have the opportunity to do both.
